Me....With Blue?????

Morning guys....we got a new week started! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend...Bill was off and we got to spend the weekend working in the yard and gathering with family...

Now y'all know I'm more of a warm darker colors in the house kind of gal...so I don't have blues and pinks....right????? Well.....I have this tall curio cabinet that is chocked full of my Cherished Teddies that I have collected for years and one or two other favorite what-nots...I guess I just love them so I have never bothered to notice that there is ALOT of BLUE up in there (even some pink....but don't tell Beverly)

So I thought I'd show you one of my favorite little pieces that I got years ago....

Oh how sweet is that!!!! The detail is amazing & I love how it reminds me of years gone by...

I got it at TJ Maxx & lookie here I only paid $6.99 for it!!!! Ohhhh weee lookie inside that little carriage...the baby sucking his thumb with his little teddy bears and bunny.....look at the little duckie on the ground and I love the color of blues they used ....

To see some more blues please just click HERE & go by and visit smiling Sally and check out all the great blogs that are showing off their blues today...but don't tell her about me...she'll think she's won me over! lol lol Have a great week you guys!!!!

I absolutely love decorating with blue and have tons of it. Pink on the other hand.....I'm not a fan. Kaje's room is very pink but that's about it for my house. I really like your figurine! It reminds me of a style of some I have. Thanks for sharing it with us! Cindy
P.S. Don't tell but I love the warm fall colors too. They're my favorite to decorate with with a splash of blue or maroon. Peach, absolute favorite color ever but I only decorate with it in my master bedroom and bath. It's too hard to find things in that color that I like!

Cute little figurine!! I'm with you on the colors...mine are all earth tones, except for my guest bath, and that is a deep turquoise. I will soon be painting it a calmer shade of blue to go for the spa/beach feel.

Hope your week is simply grand!!
Becky

That's sure a sweet little figurine, isn't it funny how we seem to collect and keep treasures for years. I know I can't part with any of mine. I'm not a big fan of decorating in MY home with pinks or blues, (love to see it in other homes)I prefer the darker greens and browns. More earth tones.
Have a great day. I'm off to the Dentist...gads, hate dential emergencies.

GM Dot,
No problem on the award thing, I had trouble too! You are such a sweet person to add my name and it is appreciated. I do enjoy your blog, it is so welcoming! The recipe for "my" chicken pot pie is some diced potato and carrots (real) cooked tender, some frozen peas (added at the end) some diced cooked chicken breasts, onion, spices chicken broth and milk to make the gravy, poured into pie crusts (homemade or pre-made) and cooked till done. It's a family favorite! Thanks for asking!
Have a wonderful day!
Lisa

Hey Dot! I love the warmer colors too, but I still love blue. I even have a blue cupboard! I keep thinking about painting it, but just haven't been able to do that yet. And then I hear that in the "prim world" blue is coming back, along with creamy lighter colors. But regardless of what's "in," I will do what makes me happy. That's my philosophy about decorating. Whether I'm in or out, I have to do things my way! LOL!
Hope you have a great week!

I just finished catching up with you and all your shenanigans.... I see you're still alive after you did that to your poor sister LOL

I love that little figurine :)

Thank you for being my friend and for caring about my family. The prayers are needed and appreciated more than you know. I am grateful to God for having you in my life.

LOVE you,

That is such a sweet piece!
I sometimes wish for the days that have gone by...Although things were hard back then, they seem to be so much more family oriented...And families were so much closer!
Kids weren't at school practices all the time.
When has the world become so hectic?

The figurine is adorable! I can never walk out of TJ Maxx empty handed, try as I may!

Happy Blue Monday!

Amazing what you find when you start looking for it isn't it?

But I'm thinking you won't find anything around my house that's pink -- unless it used to be red and faded. Or got tossed in the wash with something red.

Nothing that's pink on purpose.

Good one!

Oh, Dot! Look how cute that is! And that baby sucking his finger with the teddy is just awwwwwwwwwwwwww... I love this! You've been holding out on us, girl! You need to be hanging with us on Mondays! LOL! I'm so glad you joined us. I love visiting you here. Love your blue and love you, too!

XO,

Sheila :-)

What a cute figurine! I love little thumb suckers - I think they are adorable; but you pay in the end at the orthodontist's office. That's the voice of experience!! I'm very particular with the blue in my house - it has to be a deep blue - none of that pastel stuff. Have a great week now, and don't work too hard in that yard. Sally

That is amazing! I cannot believe you got that so cheap. It is so beautiful and like you say all of the detail on it. It reminds me of days gone by too.
It's just lovely ♥ Happy blue Monday!

That figurine is so precious, Picket. It reminds me when I used to take the kids for a walk to the park when my youngest was still a baby and was in a stroller. I would take the 2 bigger ones with the baby with their 2 cousins and we would just walk to the park and I would let them play there while watching them. Those were the days! Now, they're all married!...Christine

Awww...what a cute little figurine!
Picket, just wanted you to know that your chicken and dumplings recipe was a HIT at our house tonight. I followed it to a T except for one thing, my Kroger didn't have the Davinci bowtie pasta. I found some frozen dumplings called Mary B. Open Kettle in the frozen section by the biscuits. I dumped them in after the soup started to bubble and followed your instructions. Wow, my hubby was in "heaven". He loved it and so did I! The broth itself had the best flavor. Thank you so much!!!!
