So I'm thinking that little doodlehead..sent me something cause I sent her those little nothing bunnies...but me being the squealing sissy girl I am snatched that package so fast the postage evapored off it! I ran to the study to get my camera...well of course I am gonna blog about it!I gently open it cause you can see she wrote on it...careful opening....and this is what I found inside..
Oh My Word!!!!!!! I screamed!!!!! Oh double glory...you know Gloria collects the most gorgeous antiques ever and I just thought wow...did she sew these (cause she is some kind of talented also) or did she find these at an antique store....just look at the detail and the colors!!!!
The are MR & MRS Pillowcases!!!!! Look at the delicate little edging...ohhhh I was crying and yelling in the other room to Bill..."You won't believe what that sweet Toot sent me!!!!"
Then.....I found the card in the bottom of the package....She had wrote she had washed them and hung them on her clothesline just for me...ohhhhh my heart was so full..I was choking so bad...I couldn't hardly read the rest...
I was trying to make out the rest of the note and I saw "My mama made these years ago" I couldn't even finish reading.....something hit my heart so hard and I immediately put the pillowcases down....I can't explain what I felt..it was as though for a moment I had caught a glimpse of something sacred..something beautiful....like I had touched and felt part of the love and bond that was between Gloria and her sweet mama....if you know Gloria at all....you know how she talks about her precious mama and how she loves her..
Just when I think I can't possibly be moved any more in my heart by a friend's love and kindness...God proves me wrong....I do not deserve such a treasure...but I will cherish it all the days of my life....
Gloria....girl...I have no words....I don't know fancy things and I'm sorry I can't express to you how I feel the way you deserved to be thanked....your gift has humbled me so...I may never see you this side of glory...but know this...I couldn't love you more if we had been born sisters....I have told you before and I'll say it again....you my dear friend have no idea the impact you have on people with your love and kindness....you are a beacon in this dark stormy world and Lord only knows the people you have thrown a lifeline to in their darkest hour..Thank you sis...a million times thank you....I love you so.....

I could NOT have said it any better. She has been there for me over and over. One of the sweetest people in this world. To know her is to love her! I think just about everybody who has crossed her path knows the sweetheart she is. A heart of gold. Hi Dot...this is my designated bloggy day, this week, so I am visiting and stopping back by, answering some questions etc...
Those glasses in the header are from a set of 6, with pitcher, we bought at a country auction many a year ago. I've seen different sets in antique malls, here and there.I'm always tempted to buy more.
I love the glasses...we use them every day, for tea. They take me back to a different time...kind of a nice feeling. I would think you can find them in your neck of the woods...which is a treasure trove for antiquer's. I swear we are going to get in the truck and make a trip down that way, just for fun and exploring, one of these days.
I hope you can find some of these glasses...or others. I know you will love having them.
They are indeed beautiful and the thoughtfulness that they hold is unmeasurable.

I had cold chills down my arms when reading this blog and your pretties from Gloria. It's she just the sweetest thing you have ever bloged with. Like I've said before god thru the mold away after he made her because I've never met another person close to her of coarse: tootsie. She is one of a kind too. We are very fortunate to know these ladies. God brought them my way for a reason and you too. So beautiful items just like the gem that gave them to you. Cherish them you will think of her offten. I have a photograph of the flowers that tootsie send me when mother pasted away and I thank god for sending her to me; she was meant to be in my life, tootsie is a god sent angel her and Gloria.
