It's Wednesday!!!!

Morning guys...it's the middle of the week already...don't know about y'all but we have had some kind of wind down our way...the day after Easter it blowed so hard that it looked like someone had throwed confettii leaves and limbs all over the yard...the street and the porches!!!

Baby girl called from work that morning and we were talking about it and all at once she said "Mom...is dad out cleaning the yard?!!!!" I said "You know he is!!" (Bill can't stand for leaves to be on his grass...especially after he had just cut it for Easter!)

But lookie here what popped out...my first Iris bloom of the year....oh glory!!!!!

Now this little tree is my pride and joy....down here we call it the Grandaddy Graybeard...it is really a Fringe Tree.....but when I was a little girl you could see them in yards and I thought they were the prettiest trees I had ever seen....this was just alittle tiny bush when I bought it 8 yrs ago and I trimmed it to be a tree.....

When it is in full bloom it is glorious....the last big hurricane that came thru literally split it in half to the ground...I cried so and couldn't bare to look at it....sweet Bill went and put a C-clamp on it and some strong straps and it LIVED!!! It is still split in the middle and he keeps a rubber strap on it but it has healed over and I am so happy! See the tiny white little dangling fringes? Ohhhh they smell heavenly...but it just reminds me of my childhood and such a simplier time in life..

We had a hard frost about a week ago and it took it's toll on the Azaleas....but some still popped out with color.....

If I could really grow them without killing them I'd have them on every inch of the yard....I love them!!!!

Oh and before I leave.. here is a picture of 'Herman' in all his fine 'greenery'! lol lol
Please go by Susan's over at
A Southern Daydreamer to really see some beautiful outdoor spaces and color...It is Outdoor Wednesday....join in on the fun!!!! I hope everyone is having a great week so far....don't let this day go by without telling someone you love them...you may never get another chance...love you guys!♥

40 lil sweet taters came by...:

Tat wind can be bad...we had several days before it arrived in your part of the country.

The pictures of the tree and flowers make my fingers itch to get out in the yard right now...in my gown and it is still dark - so guess I had better wait a spell.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

The pictures of your flowers are beautiful, especially the frings tree. It looks so soft and delicate. Glad Bill was glad to save it for you after it was damaged.

You are so lucky to have so much color in your yard right now!
I have had some daffodiles, but the little ones picked them all and they have since stopped blooming!
But thank you for sharing your gorgeous outside space and eye candy...I just made my morning!

Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful!!

Our Miss Kim Lilacs have little buds and so does our Dogwood, by the dining room. The Redbud by the breakfast room window is blooming. Missouri Azalea's don't usually get as big as they do in the south...that is, in this part of MO. They get big in south MO. I love the Azalea's of the south..that's a fond memory from my years living in Louisiana and Tennessee.

It's greening up,little by little in Missouri! I just saw Terri's(Lakewood Manor) pictures of our Governer's Mansion. The tulips were all abloom. The house had some renovation done, recently and it looks fabulous! We're stopping next time we go to the lake.

Oooh, that is one beautiful tree! I don't think I've ever seen one .
Here in Acworth, Ga. I thought the wind was going to blow our house to the land of OZ.. trees are down all over the place and people still don't have electricity since Monday morning. We got lucky ours came back after a couple of hours.

Oh sweet Picket, thanks for sharing all your pretty flowers with this Michigander! When we had sleet a couple of days ago I could have cried, oh that is right I did! lol I do have some daffodils that are blooming, a little beat up but not to bad.

Hi Picket, your flowers are just beautiful. You can sure tell you love working in your yard. We had a tree removed and that began a whole new landscaping of the yard. Maybe that's why Norm hates to do things around here. Hee Hee. But, it's coming together. I wish I could visit more, but for now there just isn't enough hours in the day. This Saturday, we're doing a Luau around the pool at the clubhouse, about 75 so far are coming.Like I have time for this. :)I'll be back soon. miss ya.

Love Ya,
Chris

Dot, that is one of the prettiest trees I've ever seen, and one I've never heard of!!!! Your azaleas look gorgeous. The only thing I don't like about them is when they're done flowering they're not the prettiest thing to look at. And Herman? He's just the cutest!

Sis, Your yard looks amazing. It's so full of beautiful colors. I love that little fringe tree. I have never seen one before. it gets really windy here too. Especially since we're wide open to the farm fields. My dh did help me last weekend cleaning up the flowers beds. I mowed for the first time yesterday. We were one of the only houses in the neighborhood that didn't have any remaining snow. But, we can.. still get snow. It's suppose to rain for the next few days. Maybe the grass will turn green again. I can see little tiny buds on the trees. You are lucky to live in such a warm climate. Your beautiful pictures give me hope!
Hugs, Terrie

Your yard is so pretty. I love the tree. I have never seen one. Check out the "Bumbo seats" on my blog. I linked it back to you, hope you don't mind.

Your tree is beautiful - I'm glad Bill could save it. I have a Russian Olive that split and pulled up out of the ground a bit. My Dad did the very same thing. He clamped it back together and pulled it back up with the lawn tractor, then put a rubber hose on it and secured it back up with ropes. I don't know how those guys know that it will survive but it's amazing -they do! Your little iris is so pretty. I'll be seeing mine in about a month! Happy Spring! ~ Robyn

Hello dear Dot, please forgive me for not visiting as much as I would like. I am overwhelmed with company and constant therapy on my knee. I have missed you girl. I start each day thinking I will get to everyone and fail miserably. My company leaves on Sun. and I expect to have more time for my friends.

Your post today is lovely ,and your first iris bloom is pretty. The fringe tree is so fragile looking. I love the way it looks. I would cry too if my beautiful tree was hurt so badly. Lucky you to have your dh save it. I do love your outdoor post today. We have had bad wind here too. It is better now.

Have a happy day tomorrow Dot.

Hugs...Jeanne

Sorry about your wind! We had about 65 mile an hour winds and have small branches in the back...it will have to wait until Mr. B comes home to clean up. We even had the dreaded snow this afternoon...infact again right now. But the bright news it will be gone tomorrow!:)
Your tree is fabulous, the blossoms do like frilly fringe.. and I love all the flowers. It was a wonderful post!

hugs,Beth,
with a southern accent! You made me laugh!

I am so glad that your husband put a "C" clamp on the tree you call grand daddy greybeard. It is a lovely, lovely bush that you cut so it would grow like a tree. Your blog is so interesting.
