Tomorrow we celebrate 'Mother's Day'....for many it will be a trip across town or across country to join with their siblings to gather around the table and treat their mama with food and gifts and lots of love and memories as they remember times gone by...and look in amazement at all the sweet babies of the next generation....or they may meet and gather at mom's favorite eating place and let someone else do the cooking and serving as they just share love and laughter around the table..whatever it is...it will be done with the greatest of love.
Tomorrow we celebrate 'Mother's Day'....many will go to the local grocery store ....pic out a little hand full of flowers and grab a card...as they dreadingly wait fo the time to pass...tension will build...there is hurt and angry deep down from unresolved issues..but the world seems to declare that it is their duty to acknowledge this day...so they put on a smile and whatever it is... make it seem to be done with the greatest of love.Tomorrow we celebrate 'Mother's Day'....Many a child will stand by a tombstone and lay flowers on the grave of a dear mama that can no longer hold them and comfort them....many a mother will stand by the grave of her precious child...taken too soon from her arms...never to hear the sweet words 'Happy Mother's Day mama' again....they stand alone at that moment as their heart aches or as tears fall with no words to be found....whatever is it...it will be done in the greatest of love.
Tomorrow we celebrate 'Mother's Day'...many an adult will have no part of it....they will only have anger and hate for their mama....a mama who left them and abused them...never knowing the love that every child should know from a mama....another baby will be thrown to the wayside like common garbage....another child will be beaten and go hungry...pleading for mama to help them while she turns her head for more drugs or alcohol....many an adult have cut all ties with their mama because of such hurt and cruelty as a child.....
Any animal can lay down in the woods and give birth...it does not make them a good mother....many a child has been taken in and loved and nurtured only to turn their backs on those that loved them and go seeking their so called 'real' parent...the truth is the one that loved you..cradled you...prayed for you and would give their life for you is your parent....whatever happened in your past is just that...'in your past'...you survived it....forgive and move on..stop letting it eat away at you like a cancer...the bitterness will only turn you into the thing you despise. Be determined to be the best mama you can be...if you are blessed enough to have your mama with you still...let her know you love her....it's too late when she is in the coffin....if for some reason there is things from your childhood that haunt you...something she might have done or said...forgive her...sometimes situations cause people to do desperate things..especially if they don't know the Lord....you can't say what you might have done had you been in her shoes...but whatever it is...for your own happiness and the happiness of your own children...forgive them and move on....whatever it is....and do it in the greatest of love...
Where ever and however you celebrate Mother's Day....I hope you have a blessed one...if you still have your sweet mama lift your hands and praise God....let her know each day what she means to you...and do it with the greatest of love.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYBODY!!!!

Such a wonderful tribute to Mothers. My Mother was wonderful - but sadly she is gone - however on a happy note she is in heaven and I will see her again some day. Praise Jesus.
So I do agree with you - if your Mother is alive - tell her you love her each time you speak to her.

Such a touching post Dot, hope you are enjoying your Mother's Day!
Hi Picket, just read at Sue's about your happy day. We are so blessed, and each day I am thankful to have my parents and children and grandchildren. There are sooo many people my age who have lost one or both parents. When I see them driving up for a visit and a cup of coffee, my heart is so happy. I could never imagine living any place without my family, no matter how beautiful it is, even if the summers would be cool!!! It is sooo hot and humid and mosquitoey (IS THAT A WORD???) already. I am thankful for air conditioning. I remember being a teenager and just feeling the make up dripping with the heat and just the attic fan for a breeze. I don't miss that! Hope you have a wonder-filled week friend, you and your family are wished all the best!!!
Dot. Such a thoughtful and heartfelt tribute to all mothers and children no matter their circumstances.
If we are lucky to have our mothers a live we need to cherish every second we can! I am looking forward to going Idaho to help take care of her since her accident.
My FIL has fallen twice this weekend and broke his hand and hit his face. It breaks my heart.
These are precious moments it makes me all aware we need to take aqdvantage of every last one minute we can. You touched my heart...again.
I hope your Mother's day was beautiful.
Much love to you my friend!
Dot, this post was so beautiful and so well written. Your heart is as deep as any I know, and your beauty shines from the inside out!
