I'm Still Around...

I'm still here guys...it has just taken me awhile to have the heart to get on the computer again....I truly wish I could hug each and every one of you...your love and comments have touched the very core of my soul...I know the world has not ended and they are far worse situations that people are facing even this very minute...I know I have been blessed in this life and I am so thankful....I just have a tendency to love with my whole heart and I get very emotional when I lose something or someone I love....

This has been a very hard week for me...I kept myself busy at all times and yes I would have tears falling down my face even if I was sweeping floors...but that too shall pass...nights are the hardest for me..when all is still and quiet...it took me three days before I could walk out in the back yard and go anywhere near the shed...I tried to keep strong because I do have a large family and there is always something going on..plus baby girl thinks she needs to keep my mind occupied at all times during such times....so there was alot of 'excuses' used to just get me out of the house and be with her!
But mostly I just wanted to be alone and clean things up...it was a hard moment when Bill put away Maggie's food and water bowls...that's all I can say about that and it's best if I hush even now and focus on something else....
I worked in the yard with Bill and trimmed some bushes while he cut grass and weed eated...
The weather stayed cool and beautiful....so I kept the screen door opened while I changed some things around in the house...

I bought some annuals and decided not to plug up the big fountain this year...I turned it into this....

I just wanted to see some more color in the yard.....

I had bought some different things before Maggie had died and I am just now getting around to arranging them...I'll show you in another post soon....but I did get these beautiful creamy white bowls with chickens on them at TJ Maxx (there still sitting in the same spot I put them the day I came home)...I even found some Martha glasses that are clear with a clear rooster on them...I was on a different direction before all this...but I will get to them soon...right now I just want to keep cleaning..

Bailey's graduation was last Thursday...he won the Presidential Award for excellence and grades..oh you should have seen me and Jen shouting and crying when they called his name...he starts middle school next year....Bill's birthday is tomorrow and then Monday the family will gather together for our Memorial Day BBQ....
Middle Burly (Andy) came down today to check on me...he had worked out of town all week...He was troubled about some things and we talked and as he was leaving I told him to remember what I had always told them since they were little...."a person's life can turn completely around in just 24 hours"...he leaned over and hugged me and whispered in my ear and said "Mom...don't you forget that either...this will pass and you will be alright." I tell you that is one great son...I love him so.
So as we gather together this great weekend...let's give thanks...for this great country...for our freedom....for all those who have gave the ultimate price for these blessings and for those who are standing strong even now to defend these blessings....Lets pray for our military families....for those mothers who hold their breath until they know their child is back home safe....for those wives who keep the home fires burning raising the kids and rocking the babies in the midnight hours living with an ache and loneliness that no words can erase as she reads his letters over and over and holds on to one of his old shirts just to get a smell of him close to her again...
These are uncertain times...they are hard times....others would like to see us go down in defeat....they come across oceans running to this free America only to try to change her and abuse the rights that she has offered....leaders think they will break her and mold her into their own ways...she has taken many a hit and her sons and daughters have paid a heavy price but it is not in vain...their blood will cry out from the grave and she will always rise above the ashes and shake herself and stand tall again...HER NAME IS AMERICA...AND YOU CAN TRY ALL YOU WANT TO CRUSH HER.....BUT SHE WAS MOLDED BY THE HAND OF GOD AND SHE WILL ALWAYS BE BLESSED...
Thank you again you dear sweet precious friends...know that I love you dearly...and your friendship crosses all distance and I have felt your love and prayers...Have a glorious weekend everybody....~~~♥~~~

Love your porch with the flowers in various containers...what kind of seed planter holds the airplane plant? Love the ferns too!

Chin up - things will be different but in time they will be the new norm.

We do have a country to be thankful for...could go off on my soapbox that in so many ways it is headed the wrong direction...but will save that for another time.

Enjoy the weekend...eating and family - plus celebrating Bill's birthday.

Dot, I was so glad to see a post from you when i got on this evening! I am actually in your neck of the woods, Gulf Shores, as we were driving thru Alabama, I thought about you and several other blog friends, as we traveled i told my sister about you and several other gals, she thinks I am a bit crazy, but likes reading my blog, esp. the one where I wrote about trying to kill my husband, accidently of course, lol. I just had such a lump in my throat when I read this. I don't know you very well but it was not hard to feel the effort you were making to show us and talk about your gardening and the new things you have bought (and I do love your yard, garden & porch~lots of inspiration for me there!).

I have been there. For me if was taking it day by day and soon there was a special place in my heart where I kept all my memories where I could find them when I wanted to.

A very heartfelt & proud tribute to our great country and all who serve. You really nailed it, Dot. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday! And a Happy Birthday to your husband!

Hello my sweet Dot!

I am so sorry to read about your sweet little Maggie! They are our
little critter children and we love them so much. I'm glad you had your loved ones to take your mind off of it a bit.

Meeting you was one of the most wonderful moments of my life Dot!! We had so much fun didn't we? It was so nice getting to know you and your sister Helen better. The 2 of you are delightful together!! And I want people to know you are EXACTLY like you are on your blog... laughing one minute and crying the next. A true person and friend to all! You are so beautiful inside and out Dot and I was so honored to meet you! Okay and Helen too! LOL she's adorable!

Thank you for taking the time to come meet us at the Cracker Barrel instead of the Piggly Wiggly, it was so much more fun at the Barrel!!

We didn't have wireless connections at some of the places we were at or we were just having sooo much fun we didn't have time to post. So I will be catching up on our stops the next few weeks. We had loads of fun, laughs & tears through our travels & I'll be sharing them all with you. I have great photos of you girl!

Thank you for an incredible lunch Dot. I'll never forget that day!!

Love you & Big ole hugs!! Sherry
