Nothing Fancy...But It Works For Me

Hey guys....I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day....I was with my family all weekend..it started out Friday with Sister...we spent the day shopping and doing lunch....Saturday Baby Girl, Jen, did a special Mother's Day brunch for me and mama..ohhh it was so good! Then went shopping all evening with Jen....Sunday I was surrounded by the kids and grandbabies....I even got a call from Ashley and got to hear Little Eli in the background for the first time...ohhhhh hankie moment there....heard from my babies in Oklahoma and on top of all that....I haven't seen the hummingbirds but one time and that was early Spring...I look for them everyday...well early Sunday Morning Bill opened the back door and said "Hon..come look outside!" I ran to the back and there was two hummers on the feeder!!!!!!! Ohhhhh I squealed so loud....what a beautiful gift from the Lord!!!!!

I'm still putting stuff together in the Toile bedroom....I added the Bombay chest and the gate mirror back in....

Remember the beautiful hand embroidered pillowcases I got from our very own Theresa @ Take a Sentimental Journey....well...I bought the pretty shadow boxes and mounted them in there and live with it for about a week..they were black with the black velvet background...very pretty and very elegant looking....ohhhh it messed with me everytime I looked at them!!!! They just seemed so cold and so impersonal!

Several weeks ago I had bought this heavy metal garden hanger at Big Lots for $10.....I knew I loved it just didn't know where to put it.....

Well....I just took two little grapevine wreaths and hung the pillowcases all natural and I LOVE IT!!!!! It is so me and so different and has such a warm loving feel to it...I know..I know...that only makes sense to me! Theresa if you are seeing this ..please don't be offended...you know how much I love and cherish these treasures!

I love old straw hats hanging on mirrors or pegs....
I still can't decide about window treatments.....

I can't wait to do the picture frame molding below the chair rail....
I love having the little chest in there...years ago I aways thought I had to have the tall chest of drawers...the matching double dresser...the matching nightstands.the matching bed...I gave those things away years ago...I just like odd and end pieces in the bedrooms....See the old rusty looking garden tools....Bill thought I had bought it to hang in the laundry room for his old work coat and hats...silly man!!!!!

I just absolutley love this.....
I still tear up when I look at them and all the beautiful handstitching she put into these...

There is my favorite bunny and my middle Burly Boys rock collection he had as a little boy...(Yes I still have them!!!!)

So that's another piece added to the room....
Ok here's a peek at one of my treasures I got for Mother's Day...it is a huge fatty.. crackled...mustard colored pitcher...ohhhhh you know I squealed when I opened it!!!! Don't know where it is going just yet but I love it!!!
Here is a sign I got for myself at Kirklands...had it clearanced down..it fits perfect on the side of my old cabinet.....OHHHHHH AND GLORY YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT JC PENNEYS HAD ON CLEARANCE....IT'S RED.....IT'S CREAM....IT'S CURTAIN'S AND IT'S TOILE!!!!! Mine will be here in a few days!!!!! lol lol That's what I been playing with in the house..so far....
Take care you guys and have a great week...do something to make yourself smile....when you're happy those around you can feel your joy....Love you guys! ~♥~

What are you up to next? Girl you are busy. I need some of your energy.

Oh the room is looking sooo good!

The pillow cases look great hanging on the wreath...I am sure better than in the shadow box.

Have a great week.

I love how you have those pillowcases displayed....you have given me another idea. I have some that my mother embroidered years ago and I think they would look great in one of my bedrooms hung on something....don't match a thing...but oh the memories!

Hi Dot, I just bought the same garden hanger from Big Lots and actually hung it on the side of our home to hang garden tools!!!! Good grief, do you think it is too late to run outside and bring it in????? Ha.

I love it Dot...every single thing.

Hi Picket, I soooo know what you're talking about when you say that you put up the shadowboxes, but they didn't work. Usually when I change something and convince myself that I will like it if I live with it a few days, it will probably not stay where I put it! I have bought things that are pretty, but yet when I got them home they just didn't fit for some reason. The garden tool hanger is just PERFECT, and I love the natural element of the grapevine wreathes. Of course, the stitched pillowcases are divine! You are a blessing to so many, hope you have a wonder-filled day, friend!

Oh, Pat! It's darling! LOVE everything you did! I was sitting here looking at that room and thinking, I sure wish I were in that room taking a nap... or better yet, visiting with Pat! Glad you had such a fun weekend. I'm up to my eyeballs in stuff here, and I can't see daylight yet. Went to a party this morning, and it was so pretty. Didn't get pictures, but I wish I had taken my camera. Next time! Before the party, I managed to lock myself out of my house in 85 degree heat. Not fun. LOL! But thankfully, I got inside to get my shower and wash my hair and calm down before I had to go visiting.

Love to you...

Sheila :-)

Have you been to Jill's blog lately and know what's going on with Alexa? If not, please scroll down to the post I put there on Saturday. We could sure use your strong brand of prayers!

Your visit with your blogging friends was hilarious. They must have loved you all sitting there for 3 hrs.! Just keep that food coming and they'll love you! Your visit reminds me of some of my get together with friends that I hadn't seen in 9 yrs. We girls just ignore our husbands and keep yapping about the good ole days and those wonderful high school memories!
