Farming...It's A Good Thing!!!!!

Morning guys! Yes I'm still here..just down on the farm alot (Farmtown on Facebook)! lol I tell you this 'farming' is the most relaxing thing and it really gets your creative juices flowing....once you figure out how to build up your coins and plant good crops that take a few days to come in you don't have to work as much...unlessssss you are wanting a barn so bad so you are planting those 4 hour grapes during the day shift for extra money and then you find out people can hire you to work their farm (yes I'm for hire...ohhhh does that make me sound cheap!) Then you realize you don't have to buy trees and flowers and animals cause your neighbors can give those to you as gifts...yahoo!

I have the bestest neighbors...(Justine still fusses at me for the way I do my farm! lol) She came over the other day (yes she can be 'bought' also) and man she was fussing about all my little in's and out's!!!! I told her I love little cubby holes with different stuff like my own back yard..ohhhh don't think she didn't yell at me "Well I'm not harvesting your backyard...I'm harvesting your farm!!!!" lol Lin told me it was like a treasure hunt trying to find my crops and I think she butchered one of my COWS!!!!

But oh the day finally came...I was able to buy a BARN!!!!! Yes a barn...don't see me ever affording one of those houses but ohhhhh glory I got me a barn!!!! The day I was able to push that 'buy' button I kid you not...I squealed so loud it scared Bill to death and he came running and I was sitting here just staring at it and crying and laughing at the same time...I think he secretly went in the closet and called the kids telling them I need medication and quick! I sent out letters to my friends on Farmtown even...I HAVE A BARN!!!! I go to my neighbors and look at their huge Ponderosa Size farms and dream and I even got to upgrade the other day and get a bigger lot! lol Of course you then have to move all your fences and redo the farm but that is just like decorating the house to me...I love it!

Yes I tell you this 'farming' stuff is good for the imagination..see here..I have had these two glass canisters for months..they have black ceramic lids and a fantastic seal (got them at Wal-Mart) but they just sit in the closet cause I thought they looked alittle modern once I got them home...welllll my brain went on a genius spurt yesterday and I took my litte chicken that I had under a dome and stuck her in one and then (my brightest idea of all) I got my old recipe box that has my recipes that I have used for years in it..like my beloved Lane Cake...ohhhh glory....oh sorry!

and just like that I made new 'cloches'....Oh Lordy I think Marty just fainted!!!! lol I thought it was a good idea! lol lol Seriously...we finally got some much needed rain...Bill put a glass door going out the living room to the back porch for me..that way I can leave the french door open during the day and look out and Tracy is getting ready to get a U-HAUL!!!!!! Weeeee Haaaaaa! My baby just may be coming home after all! Hope all is well on your side of the mountain today..take care you guys ~♥~

This farming game sounds like fun but I better not go there. No more computer! Your jars are adorable. It's just wonderful that your daughter is coming home.:)

Soooooo you have a barn but not a house? Where does my sweet little Picket lay her head at night? Are you out in the hay barn? What crops are you growing. Dad grew sugar beets and grain and hay for years but in his later years became a potatoe farmer but still grey grain and hay. I want to see a picture of you in your overalls holding your pitchfork with bill just like in that famous painting (just don't ask me who painted it!). Come on, I know you can photoshop it! LOL! I'm glad you're having fun and your new cloche's are adorable. I never wanted apothecary jars until Jill's reception and now I'm fighting the urge to buy some!! Darn her for being so creative and fun!

Your canisters look great as cloches!!

Make that "grew grain" not "grey grain," and make that "Bill" not "bill." Sheesh it's still early!

LOL, you sound as wild about your farm as my youngest DIL and I, lol..my son just shakes his head. I was cooking supper last night and BB called from Madison, "Mom, Teresa wants to know if you want to harvest for her." well of course I do, just give me 10 min. to finish supper and I'll be there"..he turned around and told her, Mom's as nuts as you." lol...
I am working on saving for the nice $300,000. house will never get the Mansion...lol...
Like the way you fixed your containers.
Stop by and visit when your in my farm neighborhood. And thanks for all the gifts.

I love them. And, you were definitely inspired.

What in the world is this farm thing you keep telling us about? Oh, now I see by reading some of your comments that it is a computer game.

Have fun, Farmer Dot.

Dot, You are too funny about your little cyber farm. Sounds like a lot of fun, but I already spend way too much time on the computer, so I better stay far away from that!
Your "cloches" ARE pure genius! I love them! You come up with some wonderful ideas!
I always love visiting you.
Have a great day!

Dot,

Who needs caffiene in the morning when we can come visit you and get our laughing endorphins pumping for the day!
I better not go to Farm or I wouldn't get anything done I am suppose too. LOL
That is so wonderful that Tracy is moving closer. (I am sure that is the answer to many prayers!) I hope her children and that new great grand are coming with her. (Someday all of mine will be on the same side of this beautiful country of ours.:)
Please remember all of us as you plant your fields and buy fancy new barns!... Ooh, does it have a weather vane on top?

Enjoy your day:)

I absolutely love Farm Town when I can get on it. My poor little farm is probably dead because I couldn't get on there today to save my life. I blame it on living in the boonies and having to deal with dial up. *lol*

Hi Dot, You know when I bought my barn today, I was so excited but I didn't have enough room & it wouldn't stay! I had clear out the critters & fencing, then buy it again! I'm up to level 18 finally - yay!

Hi, again...just me stopping in to say those "napkins" you asked about are actually tea towels from Ross. They are the same green as the polka dot bowls and pitcher and came 4 or 5 in a pack. I can't remember how many, for sure, and I am not at home...staying with grands for the week.

onlymehere said...

Sweet friend you make me laugh!! I have never eaten fried green tomatoes but I've seen the movie eons ago.....does that count? I've always thought they'd give you a massage tummy ache being green! I guess that's not the case. I spent my formative years on a farm so I think I'll just enjoy your enjoyment instead of making my own! I couldn't wait to move away from the farm. The last few years I lived at home my parents moved to a subdivision in town for my mom's convenience but it was still farm land next to our house and all around there. I'm so glad you're having fun! I may have to go to the Gardener's Market in town this weekend for produce just for you!! We're feeding the missionaries and maybe that would add a nice touch to our dinner. At the very least I'll smile when I drive by it and think of you!! LOL!

onlymehere said...

P.S. I'm still waiting for the picture of you and Bill! :)

onlymehere said...

CRAP, make that "massive" tummy ache, not "massage" tummy ache. What a day I'm having, LOL!!

Shelia said...

Morning, Dear Picket! Oh, the little farm gal! I'm not going to get into this, I'm not, I'm not! :) It's sounds fun, but I'd never get anything done around the house!
Glad you're having a ball!
Yes, yes, I'd give you much more corn. Well, if you come to see me, since you're raising corn on your farm - just bring me a bushel! :O
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I loved the jars the way you did them, they look just great sitting there. My hubby still shaking his head about the farming thing, but the truth is he loves me so much that if it makes me happy...I see him smile about that. I am excited for you about your daughter coming home. A couple of my Aunts from NC are coming up this month and I am so excited, and my sister that lives in NC is coming and August, now I can hardly stand the waiting on that.
Sorry you caught me on a bummed out day, but thanks for understanding.

Betty

See you down on the farm!
